Based on a large number of historical documents, this book comprehensively utilizes the theories and methods of sociology, political science and other related disciplines to examine in some depth the influence of social relations such as blood, geography, schooling, friends, and in-laws on the structure of the Republican bureaucratic groups and their distribution of power in the Republic of China, and to explore the interactions between the organs of state power and the complex social relations in this period.
