The history of social construction since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago is a magnificent history of social transformation and social development. Socialist modernization is an unprecedented undertaking, and China basically explored the road of building a socialist society with Chinese characteristics through "trial and error." This book divides the 70-year history of social construction into two major stages, before and after reform and opening up, refines different types of historical periodizations according to the reform process, analyzes and studies the great achievements of China's social construction and the problems existing in exploration in the sense of social structure, and summarizes valuable experience for promoting the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity.
