本书是教育部人文社会科学研究基地重大项目《农村人口流动背景下义务教育体制改革研究——中部地区农村“流动儿童”与“留守儿童”义务教育实证调查与对策研究》的结题成果。《人口流动背景下的义务教育体制改革》基于对中部地区部分省市流动人口子女义务教育问题的多次专项调查，并结合全国其他省市的调查研究，从制度层面就农民工子女的义务教育公平问题及其原因进行了分析，并在此基础上提出了进一步调整和改革现行义务教育体制的对策思路。

This book is the final result of the major project of Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base of the Ministry of Education, “Research on Compulsory Education System Reform in the Context of Rural Population Mobility--Research on Empirical Investigation and Countermeasures for Compulsory Education for Migrant Children and Left-behind Children in Rural Areas of Central China.

Based on a number of special surveys on compulsory education for children of migrant populations in some provinces and cities in the central region, as well as surveys and research in other provinces and cities across the country, Reform of the Compulsory Education System in the Context of Population Mobility analyzes the problem of fairness in compulsory education for children of rural migrant workers at the institutional level and its causes, and on this basis puts forward countermeasures and ideas for further adjusting and reforming the current compulsory education system.
