《中国农村调查2013年卷》为百村观察的项目成果。“百村观察”计划是华中师范大学中国农村问题研究中心的农村调查平台，计划对全国258个村、4000个农户进行为期十年、二十年、三十年，以至更长时间的定点跟踪观察。“百村观察”项目是中心研究方法的延续。本书稿2013年的百村观察成果，全书分为6个子项目，对全国31个省的农村情况进行了调查。
The 2013 volume of the China Rural Survey is the result of the Hundred Villages Observation project. The “Hundred Villages Observation” program is the rural survey platform of the Center for the Study of Rural Issues in China (CSRIC) at Central China Normal University (CCNU), which plans to track and observe 258 villages and 4,000 rural households over a period of ten years, twenty years, thirty years, or even longer. The “Hundred Villages Observation” project is a continuation of the Center's research methodology. This book is based on the results of the 2013 Hundred Villages Observation, which is divided into six sub-projects and investigates the rural situation in 31 provinces across the country.
