Focusing on the central issue of the relationship between the dictatorship of the proletariat and democracy, this book uses linguistic political science, comparative research and theoretical methods to link history to carry out the following discussions: first, it analyzes the connotation of the terms of democracy and dictatorship under different time and space conditions, and sorts out Marx's concept of democracy and the dictatorship of the proletariat; Secondly, according to the text, it expounds the institutional concept of Marx's dictatorship of the proletariat, and clarifies the intrinsic relationship between the dictatorship of the proletariat and democracy at the institutional level; Third, it comprehensively compares the similarities and differences between Marx's dictatorship of the proletariat and representative democracy, and further clarifies what kind of democracy Marx's dictatorship of the proletariat is; Again, it examines the theory and practice of socialism in the East and the West and its relationship with Marx's dictatorship of the proletariat, and considers the logical consistency and practical problems of Marx's democratic system of the dictatorship of the proletariat in light of history.
