20世纪中国新诗的发展是一个不断走向现代化的过程，置于其中的现代象征主义诗学也具有强烈的现代化诉求，突出表现为对“诗本体”的热切关注和积极构建。本书以“诗本体”的探求作为中国现代象征主义诗学的阐释起点，围绕诗歌本质、艺术形式、审美价值等方面的核心命题，在象征主义诗学不断提升的本体自觉中，阐释其饱满的诗学内涵，考察其在诗歌写作、诗歌批评、诗歌论争等维度的生存镜像，揭示现代象征主义诗学体系建构的复杂情境及其获得“合法”地位的曲折历程。

The development of Chinese new poetry in the 20th century is a process of continuous modernization, and the modern symbolist poetics placed in it also have a strong modernization appeal, which is highlighted by the keen attention and active construction of the "poetic ontology". This book takes the exploration of "poetic ontology" as the starting point of the interpretation of modern Chinese symbolist poetics, focuses on the core propositions of the essence, art form, aesthetic value and other aspects of poetry, explains its full poetic connotation in the increasing ontological consciousness of symbolist poetics, examines its survival mirror image in poetry writing, poetry criticism, poetry controversy and other dimensions, and reveals the complex situation of the construction of modern symbolist poetics system and its tortuous process of obtaining "legitimate" status.
