The Depth of the Hermit: A New Exploration of Tao Yuanming is a project funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China at a later stage. Based on the text, the manuscript has carefully sorted out, analyzed and summarized the important areas of Tao Yuanming's research and some important issues, and the conclusions are plain and credible. The discussion of Tao Yuanming's medication and health care is relatively new, bridging the gap between previous studies in this area. Tao Yuanming's new view of history and Kapitsuka's “Bamboo Book Chronicle” belong to aspects that have received little attention in the academic world, and the discussion of this in the manuscript of “Depth of the Hermit: A New Exploration of Tao Yuanming” is very innovative and may lead to further discussion in the academic world.
