This book integrates the methods of sociology and critical linguistics to explore how the Communist Party of China (CPC) understands “ideology” by analyzing the meaning and usage of the term “ideology” in the selected important documents since the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Through lexical, intertextual, and contextual analyses, the author explores and grasps the changes in the meaning of “ideology” in the selected important documents since the founding of the People's Republic of China and the CPC's understanding of ideology embodied therein, so as to achieve a profound grasp of how the CPC understands “ideology”. and thus achieve a deep grasp of how the CPC recognizes “ideology”.
