中国边疆研究具有悠久的历史和丰硕的积累，在中华人民共和国建立后的半个多世纪中，中国边疆研究经历了艰辛而又辉煌的演进历程，至今已成为社会科学领域诸学科中的一门显学。本书以马克思主义为指导，从学术研究史的视野回顾了70年来中国边疆研究前进的足迹，总结学科的成就和价值，展望学科发展的大势。全书分四篇、十八章。绪论两章，概述统一多民族中国与中国边疆，以及中国边疆研究的千年积累、百年探索；综论四章，从纵的方向阐述中国边疆研究70年演进历程，并兼论了20世纪下半叶台湾地区边政研究的持续与嬗变；分论九章，专题综述了70年来中国边疆研究九个研究重点的研究成果，以期使读者能从纵的（综）和横的（分）两个视角对中国边疆研究的深度和广度有一个总体了解；展论三章，着重评述新世纪中国边疆研究的突破性发展，阐述中国边疆学构筑成为学科发展的必然大趋势，并将成为中国边疆研究新腾飞的起点。本书力图达到如下三个目标，即：尽可能多地提供中国边疆研究成果的信息；尽可能描述中国边疆研究发展的演进历程和趋势；试述构筑中国边疆学的学术思考和当代边疆研究者的历史责任。

In the more than half a century since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chinese frontier studies has undergone a difficult but brilliant evolution, and has become a prominent discipline in the field of social sciences. Guided by Marxism, this book reviews the footprints of China's frontier research in the past 70 years from the perspective of academic research history, summarizes the achievements and values of the discipline, and looks forward to the general trend of the development of the discipline. The book is divided into four chapters and eighteen chapters. The two chapters of the introduction summarize the unification of multi-ethnic China and China's frontiers, as well as the millennial accumulation and exploration of China's frontier studies; In four chapters, the 70-year evolution of China's frontier studies is expounded from a vertical perspective, and the continuation and transmutation of border political research in Taiwan in the second half of the 20th century. In nine chapters, the research results of nine research priorities in China's frontier studies over the past 70 years are summarized, in order to enable readers to have an overall understanding of the depth and breadth of China's frontier studies from both vertical (comprehensive) and horizontal (sub)perspectives. The exhibition focuses on the breakthrough development of China's frontier studies in the new century, expounds that the construction of Chinese frontier studies has become an inevitable trend in the development of disciplines, and will become the starting point for the new take-off of China's frontier studies. This book seeks to achieve the following three goals: to provide as much information as possible on the research results of China's frontier; Describe as much as possible the evolution and trend of China's frontier research development; This paper describes the academic thinking on the construction of Chinese frontier studies and the historical responsibility of contemporary frontier researchers.
