"Chinese Archaeology Neolithic Volume" comprehensively, systematically and emphatically introduces the achievements of more than 80 years of archaeological discoveries and research in China since the early 20s of the 20th century. The main body of this book takes chronology as the longitude, takes the cultural relics of different regions as the latitude, and combines vertically and horizontally to construct the temporal, spatial and connotation framework system of Neolithic culture in different periods across the country. In terms of time, the Neolithic culture from about 10000 BC to 2000 BC is roughly divided into four periods: early, middle, late and late Neolithic according to the early and late years and the context of development and evolution. In terms of space, the four major regions of the Yellow River Basin, the northern region, the Yangtze River Basin and South China are the first level, and then different regions are divided into the four major regions as the second level, and then different cultural relics are the third level. In terms of connotation, in introducing Neolithic cultures in different periods and regions, all information about this culture is provided as much as possible, while attention is paid to outlining the cultural genealogy and cultural relations of several key cultural areas and their important development achievements; At the end of the six chapters of the early, middle, late and late northern and southern regions, each section is listed to summarize the overall development level and appearance of Neolithic culture in this large region during this period. There are also four monographs at the beginning and end of the book, which summarize the development of Neolithic archaeology in China to understand one aspect of its academic history; Explain the natural environment of the Neolithic period from both geomorphological and climatic aspects to understand the geographical background of human existence and activities at that time; The germline study of Neolithic inhabitants, focusing on understanding the physical morphological type and ethnic evolution of the ancestors; Finally, the overall investigation of the Neolithic period in China discusses the overview of the stages of social development and the origin of civilization, and confirms that the continuous and diversified Neolithic culture gave birth to the glory of ancient Chinese civilization in the future.
