The historical positioning and value judgments of Confucius and his ideas experienced a dramatic gap in China in the 20th century, and the ideological and political struggle between Zunkong and Criticism lasted for almost half a century. After the end of the Cultural Revolution, the research and discussion of Confucius and his thought eliminated the interference of political factors and achieved remarkable results, but there are still different understandings of the contemporary value of Confucius Thought in academic circles. This book sorts out the historical destiny of Confucius and his thought over the past hundred years, combines historical theories, and puts forward unique insights on some important issues, from which we can understand the development of modern and modern Chinese intellectual history, academic history and political history.
