Since the establishment of the Lancang-Mekong co-operation mechanism, it has achieved fruitful results and become a new model of sub-regional co-operation.This book studies the economic development and production capacity co-operation among the six countries along the Lancang-Mekong River using the textile and garment industry as an example.The content of this book is written under the auspices of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, in conjunction with research institutes in the other five countries along the Lancang Mekong River.The book includes a main report and six country reports.The main report focuses on the importance, unique advantages, and current situation of the development of textile and garment industry co-operation in the Lancang countries, as well as the positioning of each country, and puts forward policy recommendations.The country reports analyse the current situation, strengths and weaknesses of the textile and garment industry in each country.The content of this book helps to understand the production capacity co-operation of the Lancang countries, and is a useful reference book for the staff of government departments, enterprises, universities and research institutes to understand the Lancang co-operation.
