Huang Ping, Ph.D. in Sociology (LSE, London, 1991), Senior Research Professor(1997-), is the Director General, Institute of European Studies, and the Secretary General of 16+1 Think Tanks Network, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS), President, Chinese Association of American Studies, Vice President, China National Association of International Relations, Vice President, China Association for Hong Kong Macao Studies, Vice President, Chinese Association of World Politics Studies, and Director, Center for World Politics Studies, CASS, and Board Member, United Nation Research Institute of Social Development(UNRISD).Prof. Huang was the Deputy Director General, Institute of Sociology, CASS, Director General, Bureau of International Cooperation, CASS, Director General, Institute of American Studies, CASS(2006-2014), Vice President, International Social Science Council (ISSC), Vice President, International Institute of Sociology (II), Vice Chairman, Management of Social Transformation(MOST, UNESCO). He has been on the editorial board in British Journal of Sociology, Current Sociology, Comparative Sociology, Global Social Policy, and Journal of Migration, etc.Huang has published books and papers on development, poverty, labor migration, community building, in Chinese and English, including Survival (Yunnan Press, 1996, Chinese), China and the World: Washington Consensus, Beijing Consensus, or What?(Co ed. With Cui Zhiyuan, Social Sciences Press, 2004, Chinese); Our Era: Where did Modern China come from and where will it go for? Liu Zuokui, PhD in History (2005), the Senior Research Fellow of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Director of the Department of Central and Eastern European Studies, Institute of European Studies, CASS, and the Director of the China—CEEC Think Tanks Exchange and Cooperation Network Office.Liu currently serves as the Senior Researcher of the Development Research Center of the State Council of China, the Research Fellow of China Foundation of International Studies and the Senior Researcher of Regional Security Center of CASS. He was once the visiting scholar of Mannheim University of Germany (2007), Aoyama Gakuin University of Japan (2009), Polish Institute of International Affairs (2015) and Latvian Institute of International Affairs (2016).Liu’s major research interests include studies on Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the European Integration, the China-EU Relations, the Quantitative Research such as the Mutual Perception between China and EU and Central and Eastern European Countries, the Turkish Issues, the China-Turkish Relations and the Electronic Governance, etc.
