理论的生命力有赖于时代赋予的崭新意义，在全球化政治、经济和文化格局中，马克思主义文艺理论的阐释力、功能作用、批评活动等正在发生诸多新变。从当下视域发掘并赋予马克思主义文论的当代性，正在成为中国马克思主义文艺理论乃至中国文学理论话语体系构建必须予以面对和解决的核心论题。2016年10月，全国马列文论研究会第33届年会暨“中国马克思主义文艺理论的当代性”学术研讨会在四川大学召开，此次会议及此会议论文集的出版，是全国马列文论研究会认真学习贯彻习近平总书记系列重要讲话精神，本着“立足中国、借鉴国外、挖掘历史、把握当代、关怀人类、面向未来”的思路，旨在实现马列文论与当代性有效对接，体现马列文论之中国特色、中国风格、中国气派所作出的又一次重要努力。

The vitality of theory depends on the new significance given by the times, and in the globalized political, economic and cultural pattern, many new changes are taking place in the explanatory power, functional role and critical activities of Marxist literary and art theory. Discovering and endowing Marxist literary theory with its contemporaneity from the current perspective is becoming the core topic that must be faced and solved in Chinese Marxist literary theory and even the construction of Chinese literary theory discourse system. In October 2016, the 33rd Annual Conference of the National Marxist-Leninist Research Association and the academic seminar "The Contemporaneity of Chinese Marxist Literary and Art Theory" were held in Sichuan University , Chinese style, Chinese style made another important effort.
