As early as the fifties and sixties of the 20th century, the theoretical framework of national semiotics has gradually taken shape in the teaching and scientific research of Western colleges and universities. However, the Chinese academic community is relatively unfamiliar with this discipline, and there is a situation of "daily use and two unknowns", and unconsciously use the methods of national semiotics. Ethnosemiotics contains two interrelated parts: first, ethnological researchers consciously or unintentionally use semiotic theories to explore national problems or phenomena; The second is to regard semiotics as an overall methodology for the study of national phenomena, and regard national phenomena as part of the "cultural system-language simulation system", which can be regarded as a branch of cultural semiotics. The papers selected in this collection involve two parts. It is hoped that the publication of this collection will make ethnosemiotics attract attention and flourish in China.
