This book mainly presents in the form of a compilation of documents how Chinese literati recognized and imagined American literature in the 2030s. The above full text includes 10 articles that comprehensively discuss American literature from different dimensions, which can reflect the basic judgment of Chinese literati on American literature during this period. The following part excerpts the relevant texts of 60 literati with different political and aesthetic tendencies, including Lu Xun, Liang Shiqiu, Shi Jingcun, and Yang Changxi, on the works of American writers, which is convenient to present the diverse picture of China's acceptance of American literature.
