China's Latin American studies are closely linked to the changes in the international political and economic situation, the development of China-Latin America relations and China's own development process, and are a constructive supplement to the theory and practice of the modernization process of developing countries. At present, China and other emerging economies are facing the issue of sustainable economic and social development, and at the same time, they also shoulder the common responsibility of participating in global governance and working together to build a broad community of interests. Targeted research on Latin America and the Caribbean not only enriches the connotation of Chinese Latin American studies, but also provides useful reference for China to build a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. In the course of its long-term development, China's Latin American studies have formed a relatively distinct research tradition and characteristics, and produced a large number of research results that have made positive contributions to the political, economic, social, cultural and diplomatic undertakings of the Party and the state.
