中国的拉美研究与国际政治经济形势的变化、中拉关系的发展和中国自身的发展进程密切联系，是对发展中国家现代化进程理论与实践的建设性补充。当前，中国等新兴经济体都面临着经济社会可持续发展问题，同时还肩负着参与全球治理、携手构建广泛的利益共同体的共同担当。对拉美和加勒比区域的针对性研究不仅丰富了中国拉美研究的内涵，而且为中国全面建成小康社会提供了有益的借鉴。中国的拉美研究在长期的发展过程中，形成了较为鲜明的研究传统与特色，产生了大量为党和国家政治、经济、社会、文化和外交事业作出积极贡献的研究成果。本书追寻着中国拉美研究发展的历史脉络，以拉美研究各学科领域为对象，通过对学术思想、学术争鸣、理论演进和方法探索等多角度的综述考察，反映了中国拉美学科发展的重点、难点、热点和方向，对于未来中国区域国别研究，特别是拉美和加勒比地区与国别研究具有基础性和参考性的意义。

China's Latin American studies are closely linked to the changes in the international political and economic situation, the development of China-Latin America relations and China's own development process, and are a constructive supplement to the theory and practice of the modernization process of developing countries. At present, China and other emerging economies are facing the issue of sustainable economic and social development, and at the same time, they also shoulder the common responsibility of participating in global governance and working together to build a broad community of interests. Targeted research on Latin America and the Caribbean not only enriches the connotation of Chinese Latin American studies, but also provides useful reference for China to build a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. In the course of its long-term development, China's Latin American studies have formed a relatively distinct research tradition and characteristics, and produced a large number of research results that have made positive contributions to the political, economic, social, cultural and diplomatic undertakings of the Party and the state. This book traces the historical context of the development of Latin American studies in China, takes various disciplines of Latin American studies as the object, and reflects the focus, difficulties, hot spots and directions of the development of Latin American disciplines in China through a review and investigation of academic thought, academic controversy, theoretical evolution and method exploration, and has basic and reference significance for the future of China's regional country studies, especially Latin America and the Caribbean and country studies.
