On July 12, 2019, an academic discussion forum of "Historical Research Review of Sino-foreign Relations and Silk Road Interaction" at the Kunming Zhenghe Cultural Tourism Festival was opened at Yunnan University. The forum was hosted by the CPC Jinning District Committee of Kunming City, the People's Government of Jinning District of Kunming City, the Chinese Society for the History of Chinese Foreign Relations, and the School of History and Archives of Yunnan University. It was organized by the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinning District Committee of Kunming City and the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Jinning District of Kunming City. The seminar invited more than 100 senior experts, scholars and professors from Zhejiang, Shandong, Shanghai, Xiamen and other places all over the country to carry out group discussions on the topics of review and on the prospect of researching the history of Chinese and foreign relations, Zheng He's research, scholars and academics in the research on the history of Chinese and foreign relations, other thematic studies on the history of Chinese and foreign relations, interaction of the three Silk Roads and Sino-foreign exchanges. The seminar aimed at gathering the ideas and wisdom of the nation's leading experts, that came out of an innovative path of social development in Jinning combined with the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, led by culture, to serve the Belt and Road Initiative and local economic construction. This book is a collection of papers from this symposium.
