This book is a collection of criticisms divided into four series: the first series, "The Temptation of Theory", mainly contains several essays by the author on reflecting on and reconstructing contemporary Chinese literary theory. This kind of reflection and reconstruction focusing on issues has an obvious role in promoting the construction of the theoretical discourse system of contemporary Chinese literature. The second series of "Republic of China Literature Scene" mainly includes four essays by the author on the study of Republic of China literature, returning to the historical context of Republic of China literature and rethinking modern Chinese literature in the historical scene. The third series, "Criticism in the Literary Scene", mainly includes the author's research on cutting-edge issues and hot issues in contemporary Chinese literature, as well as the works of important writers. This is an inquiry and pulse of contemporary Chinese literature, and a kind of criticism's active intervention in the literary scene. The fourth series, "Imagining the World of Literature," mainly includes three essays by the author on Kazuo Ishiguro. This is an academic response to the newly awarded Nobel Prize writers, and it is also a Chinese imagination of world literature.
