The author believes that for a period of time, some problems and drawbacks exposed in the teaching of Chinese painting in China's art academies (departments) cannot be ignored. Nowadays, the reform of the teaching mode of Chinese painting has become an unavoidable topic. The reform of the teaching mode of Chinese painting must start from its own characteristics, laws and internal requirements, and then absorb and learn from the beneficial factors of Western art education. The reform of Chinese painting teaching mode in the context of globalization must be based on local culture, maintain the identity of national culture and adhere to local characteristics, and face the challenges of globalization with a positive attitude. The reform of the teaching mode of Chinese painting should reflect the sense of the times and keep pace with the times.
