明清时期贵州地域社会的形成，与明代卫所制度有直接和紧密的联系，正是卫所制度的推行及其变动，造就了贵州文化多元并存的基础。实土卫所逐渐向州县系统演进，贵州政区格局得以形成；卫所城的选址、筑建与变迁，逐渐由军事功能转变为兼具政治、文化、经济、教育中心的城镇；卫学教育开启民智、推行教化及其在科举竞争中的优势，逐渐形成了贵州的文化区域中心，并加速了风俗分区的形成；卫所移民持续迁入而逐渐形成的军户群体，不仅改变了贵州的人口结构与民族关系，而且与少数民族人群一道，逐渐开拓出了贵州地域社会中的多样性景观，汉文化、少数民族文化相互涵化，使贵州地域形成了“你中有我，我中有你”的多民族共生的多元文化形态。

The formation of Guizhou's regional society in the Ming and Qing dynasties was directly and closely related to the Ming Dynasty's guardhouse system, and it was the implementation of the guardhouse system and its changes that created the basis for Guizhou's cultural diversity and coexistence. The gradual evolution of the real-earth guards to the state and county system allowed the formation of the political pattern of Guizhou; the location, construction and change of the guard towns gradually transformed from military functions to towns with political, cultural, economic and educational centers; the education of the guards opened up the minds of the people, promoted indoctrination and its advantages in the competition of the imperial examinations, gradually formed the cultural regional center of Guizhou and accelerated the formation of the customary zones; the military household groups formed as the guards' immigrants continued to migrate into the area not only changed the culture and the culture, but also changed the culture. The formation of the military group, not only changed the demographic structure and ethnic relations in Guizhou, but also, together with the ethnic minority groups, gradually opened up the diversity of Guizhou's regional society, and the mutualization of the Han culture and minority cultures made Guizhou form a multi-ethnic coexistence of multi-cultural forms in which “there is one of you, and there is one of you in me”.
