Talent training is an important function of higher education, which reflects the university's school-running philosophy and management characteristics. The training of foreign language professionals in modern Chinese universities began with the introduction of Western higher education models in the late 19th century and early 20th century, and gradually formed two characteristics of professional education and general education. In the process of talent training, the foreign language major is influenced and restricted by the political, economic and cultural education of modern China, and has formed its own characteristics in terms of talent training concepts, curriculum settings, faculty and campus culture, cultivating a large number of outstanding foreign language professionals, and making important contributions to the development of many fields in modern China.
