在明清时期中国桑蚕业繁盛的同时，柞蚕业也得到了明显的发展，这反映于柞蚕书的不断刊行，以及明末清初时期已出现比较系统的柞蚕业技术的记载。清代中期之后因中央政府的产业推广措施，大量柞蚕书开始刊行。本书在前辈学者对柞蚕书整理校注的基础上，对能够获取的有代表性的十七种柞蚕书，进行了校注工作。全书按照各部柞蚕书刊行的时间进行排列，展现了1911年之前中国柞蚕书刊行与流传的基本面貌，揭示了柞蚕产业“养蚕—缫丝—织绸”工艺流程的全貌，对于近代中国经济史、丝绸史等方面的研究有很好的参考价值。

While China's silkworm industry flourished during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the silkworm industry also developed significantly, which was reflected in the continuous publication of silkworm books and the relatively systematic records of silkworm technology in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. After the middle of the Qing Dynasty, due to the central government's industrial promotion measures, a large number of silkworm books began to be published. On the basis of the collation and annotation of silkworm books by senior scholars, this book proofreads the seventeen representative silkworm books that can be obtained. The whole book is arranged according to the time of publication of each silkworm book, showing the basic situation of the publication and circulation of silkworm books in China before 1911, revealing the overall picture of the process of "silkworm breeding-silk-weaving" in the silkworm industry, which has good reference value for the research of modern Chinese economic history and silk history.
