关于相声,今日的大众形成了很多经典的认知与命题,诸如相声是一种“民众喜闻乐见的民族民间艺术”,“有着历史悠久的讽刺传统”等。我们吋常习惯从这些本质化的概念出发来理解它,但很少有人去思考这些司空见惯的知识与概念是如何生成的。本书是一次大胆的尝试,作者把相声的变迁放置到现代民族国家建设的进程中,以动态的视角来探究相声在“十七年”(1949—1966)期间的改进过程。综合考察相声这种文体如何在社会意识形态的管控、知识生产的形塑、表演空间的改换、传播媒介的影响,以及表演者、经营者与观众的互动下被建构出来,并通过认知装置的倒置成为向来如此的“传统”。
本书分祈了社会变迁对相声的影响,也探讨了现代民族国家建设与民间文化的关系,体现了融合民间文学与社会思想史研究的努力。

Regarding crosstalk, today's public has formed many classic cognitions and propositions, such as crosstalk is a kind of "popular national folk art" and "has a long-standing satirical tradition". We are accustomed to understanding these essentialized concepts from the point of view, but few people think about how these commonplace knowledge and concepts are generated. This book is a bold attempt to place the changes of crosstalk in the process of modern nation-state construction, and explores the improvement process of crosstalk during the "seventeen years" (1949-1966) from a dynamic perspective. This comprehensive examination is how crosstalk is constructed under the control of social ideology, the shaping of knowledge production, the transformation of performance space, the influence of communication media, and the interaction between performers, operators and audiences, and has become such a "tradition" through the inversion of cognitive devices.
