全书分为五篇,分别是:家庭·童年、游戏·童年、学校·童年、政策·童年、电子媒介·童年。先宏观描述不同年代的社会文化背景,勾画出不同年代儿童的群体特征,然后从家庭、游戏、学校、政策、电子媒介等五个维度分别考察从1949年至2009年60年间儿童童年的变迁历程。其中,每一个维度都将以代际为阶段划分标准,分别讨论家庭、学校和社会对不同年代儿童早期教育所持主张、所施加影响和所抱期望,最后总结归纳出不同年代儿童所受各种影响与之形成的群体特征之间的必然联系。通过不同时代儿童童年的纵向对比,在研究、分析、反思的基础上,结合当下时代发展趋势和社会、民众所需,对我国儿童童年的发展路向进行了探索性的展望。

The book is divided into five parts: Family • Childhood, Games • Childhood, School • Childhood, Policy • Childhood, and Electronic Media • Childhood. First, the social and cultural background of different generations is described in a macro manner, the group characteristics of children in different generations are delineated, and then the changes in children's childhood from 1949 to 2009 are examined from five dimensions: family, games, schools, policies, and electronic media.
