中国社会科学院财经战略研究院(National Academy of Economic Strategy,CASS),简称“财经院”,成立于1978年6月,其前身为中国社会科学院经济研究所财政金融研究组和商业研究组,初称“中国社会科学院财贸物资经济研究所”。1994年,更名为“中国社会科学院财贸经济研究所”;2003年,更名为“中国社会科学院财政与贸易经济研究所”。2011年12月29日,作为中国社会科学院实施哲学社会科学创新工程的一个重大举措,也是在创新工程后成立的首批跨学科、综合性、创新型学术思想库和新型研究机构,以财政与贸易经济研究所为基础,组建综合性、创新型国家财经战略研究机构——财经战略研究院,并从此改用现名。
著名经济学家刘明夫、张卓元、杨圣明、刘溶沧、江小涓、裴长洪、高培勇、何德旭先后担任所长,现任院长为何德旭教授,党委书记为杜志雄教授。
作为中国社会科学院直属的研究机构,财经院自成立以来,与祖国的改革开放事业共同成长,始终以天下为己任,奋进在时代前列。几代财经院人,不辱使命,在中国经济社会发展进程中的几乎每个环节,都留下了自己的印记。经过40多年的努力,今天的财经院已经发展成为拥有财政经济、贸易经济和服务经济等主干学科板块,覆盖多个经济学科领域的中国财经科学的学术重镇。

This book is the fifth research report on urban marketing in the research group. According to the concepts and index models of the city brand development index (CBDI), provincial brand development index (PBDI) and urban agglomeration brand development index (ABDI) proposed by the research group, this book selects 289 cities in China. The brand development of 30 provinces and 19 major city agglomerations was evaluated and measured, and on this basis, the general report of China City Brand Development Index, China City Cultural Brand Development Index Report, China City Tourism Brand Development Index Report, China City Investment Brand Development Index Report, China City Livable Brand Development Index Report, China City Brand Communication Development Index Report, China Provincial Brand Development Index Report and China City Agglomeration Brand Development Index Report were formed from 2017 to 2018. With the theme of "Innovation Promotes High-quality Development", this book reviews and prospects the development trend of urban marketing in China since 2017 under the background of innovation-driven and new and old kinetic energy transformation, focusing on the upgrading of "double innovation", urban brand innovation, and urban marketing governance innovation. At the same time, combined with the actual needs of China's urban marketing and city branding development, San Francisco, Glasgow, Beijing, Harbin, Hangzhou and other Chinese and foreign cities are selected as typical cases of urban marketing and city branding to promote innovative development for in-depth research. Based on data analysis, development investigation, theoretical focus and case studies, this book puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the development of urban (regional) marketing and branding in China from multiple perspectives. As the result of collective efforts, this book is committed to promoting the research of urban marketing and branding in China, and providing valuable theoretical guidance and experience for urban marketing practice. Based on the Chinese City Brand Development Index(CBDI),Provincial Brand Development Index(PBDI)and Urban Agglomeration Brand Development Index(ABDI)this study has formulated,we tested and ranked 289 cities,30 provinces and 20 city groups in China,and created the annual CBDI report(2017-2018)as well as seven subject reports,including the city cultural brand development report,the city tourism brand development report,the city investment brand development report,the city livable brand development report,the city brand communication report,China's provincial brand development report and the brand development report of urban agglomerations in China.Stimulating high-quality development through innovation has been discussed as the theme of the China City Marketing Development Report.We focus on several hot topics related to China's city marketing,such as the upgraded Innovation and Entrepreneurship,innovation of city branding,and innovation of city marketing governance. At the same time,the report probed into several typical cities including San Francisco,Glasgow,Beijing,Harbin,Hangzhou and other Chinese and foreign cities to indicate how city marketing and city branding can promote urban innovation and high quality development. At the same time,according to the needs of Chinese city marketing development,we have selected a number of cities and case studies with relevant and interesting experiences in terms of city marketing,such as Melbourne,Shenzhen,Beijing,Qingdao,Chengdu and Hangzhou,respectively,as holistic city brand,city culture brand,city tourism brand,city Investment brand,the city livable brand and the city brand communication case.
