中国特色社会主义伦理学需要保持开放的学术话语，广泛吸收、借鉴传统伦理与西方伦理体系的营养，使自己站在世界伦理学发展潮流的前沿。传统伦理和西方伦理都构建了各自的理论图式，反映出在一定时期、一定社会环境下的道德镜像，积累了丰富的理论成果和研究经验，以之为参照可以更为完整地把握人类道德生活脉络和规律，增强中国特色社会主义伦理学的传承性、合理性和科学性。中国特色社会主义伦理学的话语表达也一定要是“中国的”，从基本理论到原则规范都要是讲“中国话”，中国传统伦理的言说方式和现代中国的道德生活语言，都应是中国特色社会主义伦理学的学术语言，都应该能回应中国道德实践，能提升中国道德建设经验，能讲好中国道德故事，唱响中国道德“好声音”。
《当代中国伦理学》在内容安排上是按照“专著”的写法，但又有“教材”体例的痕迹，并在规范体系建设上提出了“两个伦理原则”“三大伦理理念”“四个伦理道德规范”“六大伦理建设”，最后以“建设中国特色社会主义伦理学”作为“落脚点”。
Socialist ethics with Chinese characteristics needs to maintain an open academic discourse, extensively absorb and draw on the nutrition of traditional ethics and Western ethical systems, so that it can stand at the forefront of the development trend of ethics in the world. Both traditional ethics and western ethics have constructed their own theoretical schema, reflecting the moral mirror image in a certain period of time and under a certain social environment, and have accumulated rich theoretical achievements and research experiences, which can be used as a reference to grasp the veins and laws of human moral life in a more complete way, and to enhance the inheritance, reasonableness and scientificity of socialist ethics with Chinese characteristics. The discourse expression of socialist ethics with Chinese characteristics must also be “Chinese”, from basic theories to principles and norms, all of which should be in “Chinese”. Both traditional Chinese ethics and the language of moral life in modern China should be the academic language of socialist ethics with Chinese characteristics, and should be able to respond to Chinese moral practice, enhance China's experience in moral construction, tell a good story of Chinese morality, and sing a “good voice” of Chinese morality.
Contemporary Chinese Ethics is organized according to the style of a “monograph”, but with traces of the style of a “textbook”, and puts forward “two ethical principles” and “three ethical principles” in the construction of the normative system. In the construction of the normative system, it proposes “two ethical principles”, “three major ethical concepts”, “four ethical and moral norms”, “six major ethical constructions”, and finally “the construction of socialist ethics with Chinese characteristics”.
