中国社会科学院地区安全研究中心成立于2002年，是经中国社会科学院批准成立的院级学术研究机构，主要从事地区安全问题，特别是中国周边安全问题的研究。中心以现实性、对策性研究为重点，研究成果主要为有关部门提供决策参考。

中心为非营利性学术机构，接受机构、公司、个人、基金会的资助，所有筹措资金用于开展学术研究和相关活动。

钟飞腾，中国社会科学院亚太与全球战略研究院副研究员、大国关系研究室主任。北京大学法学博士，早稻田大学哲学博士，研究领域为国际政治经济学、对外直接投资与中国对外关系。出版《管控投资自由化：美国应对日本直接投资的挑战》《“一带一路”建设中的产业转移》等专著，以及《美国霸权与跨国公司》《国际政治经济学：学科思想史》《红星照耀太平洋：中国崛起与美国海上战略》等译著，在《世界经济与政治》等核心期刊发表论文20多篇。
