中国社会科学院地区安全研究中心成立于2002年，是经中国社会科学院批准成立的院级学术研究机构，主要从事地区安全问题，特别是中国周边安全问题的研究。中心以现实性、对策性研究为重点，研究成果主要为有关部门提供决策参考。

中心为非营利性学术机构，接受机构、公司、个人、基金会的资助，所有筹措资金用于开展学术研究和相关活动。

中心组织调研课题，推进合作研究，开展国内外学术交流，出版国家智库报告和研究参考资料。

Founded in 2002, the Regional Security Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is a college-level academic research institution approved by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, mainly engaged in the research of regional security issues, especially China's peripheral security issues. The center focuses on realistic and countermeasure research, and the research results mainly provide decision-making reference for relevant departments. The center is a non-profit academic institution, receiving funding from institutions, companies, individuals, foundations, and all funds raised are used to carry out academic research and related activities. The center organizes research topics, promotes cooperative research, carries out academic exchanges at home and abroad, and publishes national think tank reports and research reference materials.
