On September 7, 2019, a symposium on "Discipline Confidence: Chinese Sociology Entering the World" was held in Beijing, hosted by the Department of Social Science and Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and undertaken by the Institute of Sociology. This is the first time in the domestic academic circles to discuss the issue of self-confidence in sociology discipline in the form of a thematic discussion, sounding the clarion call to enhance the self-confidence of China's sociology discipline, and is an in-depth and solid discussion to study and explain the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the Philosophy and Social Sciences Work Forum, and the discussion results formed at the meeting are of considerable significance to the development of sociology in the future period. The speeches and papers of the conference are committed to building a unique sociological discipline system, academic system and discourse system in the history and culture of the Chinese nation, based on the history and reality of China's social development, promoting dialogue and communication with the international social community, and enhancing the self-confidence of China's sociology discipline.
