This book creatively expounds the concept of "mythology" to refer to the appropriation and reconstruction of mythology since the second half of the 20th century due to the widespread influence of modern cultural industries and electronic media technologies. Using this new conceptual and theoretical perspective, this book meticulously and deeply examines the reproduction and reconstruction of contemporary Chinese mythology in the field of heritage tourism and electronic media, analyzes the textual characteristics and essential attributes of mythology, and expounds the interaction between the production of mythology and contemporary social culture. Through the heritage tourism cases of the Han, Hani and Miao ethnic groups, as well as the examination of the Internet, film and television, and video games, this book vividly demonstrates this central idea: mythology is the second life of mythology, both distinct and interrelated, showing a cyclical and endless relationship. This book broadens the field of study of mythology and helps scholars and ordinary readers to gain insight into the vitality of mythology in a more complete context.(AI翻译)
