The National Rule of Law Index Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has long paid attention to the development of China's rule of law, the operation of the judicial system and judicial reform, and has successively launched the "Third-party Assessment Report on Basic Settlement of Implementation Difficulties", "Third-party Assessment Report on China's Government Affairs Openness", "Chinese Government Transparency Index Report", "China Judicial Transparency Index Report", "China Procuratorial Transparency Index Report", "Status and Prospect of Standard Disclosure", "Government Procurement Transparency Assessment Report (2016)" and "China Higher Education Transparency Index Report" and a series of rule of law assessment reports, as well as a series of "social governance" reports such as "Social Governance: Online Practice of the "Fengqiao Experience" in the New Era", "Social Governance: Construction of a Safe Society in Zhuhai", and "Social Governance: Weifang Smart City Practice". The "Third-Party Assessment Report on China's Judicial Disclosure (2018)" is an analysis report commissioned by the Supreme People's Court and formed by the National Rule of Law Index Research Center using 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, as well as some courts of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, to conduct third-party assessments of the disclosure of trial process information and judgment documents. The evaluation results show that through the establishment of a unified platform for information disclosure of trial processes and a platform for disclosure of judgment documents, the judicial disclosure platform and disclosure standards of courts across the country have been unified, which has facilitated public inquiries. In the future, judicial openness should be further deepened in terms of refining disclosure standards, implementing disclosure responsibilities, and improving the effectiveness of platform operations, so as to achieve the purpose of promoting fairness with openness and promoting public trust with fairness.
