This report is the third in a series of research reports on the development of village and township banks in China, with the theme of shared large-scale development, reviews the evolution of the large-scale development of village and township banks and adheres to market positioning policies, and analyzes the latest development of village and township banks nationwide until 2019, including the characteristics of the number of village banks, assets and business scale, geographical distribution of branches, etc., as well as the financial performance and social performance of the sample village and town banks. At the same time, this report focuses on the development difficulties caused by the diseconomy of scale of village and town banks, and takes three village and town banks as typical cases to analyze the economies of scale and social effects of the management headquarters model of village and town banks, the investment management village and town bank model, the prefecture and city branch model and the "multi-county, one-bank" model, and proposes that the shared large-scale development of clusters in the digital era is the only way for village and town banks to break through the difficulties and achieve quality development.
