In December 1980, the first National Symposium on the History of Chinese Logic was held in Guangzhou. At the initiative of Yang Yunsun, Wen Gongyi, Yu Yu, Li Kuangwu and other senior scholars, the Chinese Logical History Research Association (later changed to its current name in October 1991) was formally established at the meeting. In January 1982, "Research on the History of Chinese Logic: Proceedings of the First Symposium on the History of Chinese Logic", which was compiled based on the papers submitted to the conference, was published by China Social Sciences Press. In the past 40 years, the research of the history of Chinese logic has made great progress, and logicians have carried out in-depth research in the fields of the formation and development of China's native logic, the introduction of Indian and Western logic, and the comparison of the three major logical traditions, and achieved unprecedented important results. In particular, in the past five years (2012-2016), more than 20 projects of logicians have been approved by the National Social Science Foundation of China, among which "A Hundred Years of Chinese Cause Ming Research" (2012) and "Eight-volume History of Chinese Logic" have been approved as major projects; He has published a large number of papers and works in many research directions, such as the topic of "logic and culture" and the characteristics of ancient Chinese logic, the nature and related issues of ancient Chinese famous dialectics and its deductions, the origin and development process of modern Chinese logical thought, the theoretical reconstruction of ancient Chinese logic practice and the study of cause and ming. Successfully held a number of national symposiums, including the first cross-strait symposium on the history of Chinese logic; International academic exchanges and cooperation have been steadily advancing, and Chinese and foreign scholars have held several international conferences on the history of Chinese logic, and cooperated in compiling the English version of the Handbook of the History of Chinese Logic, making positive and pragmatic efforts for the goal of Chinese logic history research. So far, 16 national symposiums on the history of Chinese logic have been held, but for various reasons, only a few conferences have published selected papers received into a collection of papers after the conference. In order to further promote the research of the history of Chinese logic and reflect the current research status of the history of Chinese logic, the Professional Committee of the History of Chinese Logic Society decided to edit and publish the journal "Research on the History of Chinese Logic", which is an annual series, which includes papers and translations in the fields of ideological literature, issues, characters and comparative history of Chinese and foreign logic in various periods of Chinese logic history. These papers and translations may be unpublished, published in the previous year or presented at academic conferences. The papers included in this series are mainly selected from the proceedings of the 16th National Symposium on the History of Chinese Logic held at Guizhou Minzu University in 2015, and also include some papers that have been published in recent years.
