《中国农村调查.2014年卷/中国农村调查·百村观察系列》为华中师范大学中国农村研究院年度报告——百村观察系列。1988年中国农村研究院的前身——华中师范大学农村基层政权研究中心成立,主任张厚安教授提出了“‘三个面向’(面向社会、面向基层、面向农村),理论务农”的宗旨,并带领同仁到全国进行普遍性农村调查。1995年中心更名为“华中师范大学农村问题研究中心”,研究领域得以扩展。1996年,中心在全国范围内选择了22个村庄进行全面、细致、系统的调查研究,并推出“村治书系”。1997年,中心常务副主任徐勇教授将中心的方法归纳为“实际、实证、实验”。1999年中心更名为华中师范大学中国农村问题研究中心,并于2000年被批准为教育部人文社会科学重点研究基地,成为国内研究农村问题的综合性研究机构,由徐勇教授担任主任。2011年改称中国农村研究院。本书为“百村观察”调查的2014年卷。

China Rural Survey. 2014 Volume / China Rural Survey - Hundred Villages Observation Series is the annual report of China Rural Research Institute (CRI) of Central China Normal University (CCNU) - Hundred Villages Observation Series. 1988, the predecessor of China Rural Research Institute (CRI), the Centre for Research on Grassroots Regimes (CRGGR) of Central China Normal University, was established. In 1988, the predecessor of China Rural Research Institute, Huazhong Normal University Rural Power Research Centre, was established, and its director, Professor Zhang Houan, put forward the tenet of ‘’three directions‘ (facing the society, facing the grassroots, and facing the rural areas) and theoretical farming’, and led his colleagues to carry out a nationwide rural survey. 1995, the centre was renamed as ‘China Rural Research Institute of Central Normal University’. In 1995, the centre was renamed as ‘Rural Issues Research Centre of Central China Normal University’, and the research field was expanded. 1996, the centre selected 22 villages in China to conduct a comprehensive, detailed and systematic survey and research, and launched the ‘Village Governance Book Series’. 1997, Professor Xu Yong, the executive deputy director of the centre, transferred the centre to the ‘Rural Issues Research Centre of Central China Normal University’. In 1997, Professor Xu Yong, Executive Deputy Director of the Centre, summed up the Centre's methodology as ‘practical, empirical and experimental’. 1999, the Centre changed its name to the Centre for the Study of Rural Issues in China at Central China Normal University, and in 2000 it was approved as a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, making it a comprehensive research institution for rural issues in China, with Professor Xu Yong as its director. In 2011, it was renamed the China Rural Research Institute (CRI). This book is the 2014 volume of the ‘Hundred Villages Observation’ survey.
