中美友好互信合作计划，是复旦发展研究院下属的一个研究平台，它的研究重点在于如何增进中美两国人民的相互了解，如何确认中美彼此之间的共同利益以及建立在这个基础上的相互信任，如何建构中美在国际事务，特别是促进两国经济和社会的可持续发展方面的合作。中美友好互信合作计划，也是一个致力于为中美两国的青年学者、学生以及其他各界精英人士提供他们相互间交流的平台。

中国国家主席习近平在会见美国新当选总统特朗普时指出，合作是中美两国唯一正确的选择，双方完全能够成为很好的合作伙伴。习主席同时强调，我们有一千条理由把中美关系搞好，没有一条理由把中美关系搞坏。在习主席看来，中美两国存在分歧是正常的，关键是要妥善处理敏感问题，建设性管控分歧。美国方面也对用全局思维、长远眼光和政治智慧思考和处理中美关系表述肯定，同时也愿同中方合作，努力消除影响两国关系的因素和问题，使美中关系实现更大发展，美中关系一定能发展得更好。

中美友好互信合作平台，自成立一年多来，集合了国内外的专家学者，尤其是年轻的专家学者和相关社会精英人士就两国关系的重大问题进行相关研究探讨，并发表阶段性的研究成果和相关见解。这些成果和见解，对了解中美关系的现状及其走向有一定的政策制定的参考价值。另外，平台还积极主办或者协办各种论坛，邀请中美学界、财界和政界等各界著名人士面对面会谈，彼此畅所欲言，就两国关系的重大问题展开头脑风暴，发表了许多真知灼见，引起媒体界和其他社会各界的高度关注。平台所做的这些工作，是方方面面，特别是中国有关方面响应中国国家领导人所提出的增进中美两国合作重要指示的多方努力的一个部分。

2016年恰逢美国大选年，本书所遴选刊印的文章，主要集中在“特朗普现象”所折射的美国国内社会现状与政治问题，以及特朗普当选对中美关系乃至世界格局的影响。而在回顾和整理这些研究结果的过程中，我们也深刻地感受到，即便身处信息化的时代，中美两国之间存在一些刻板印象，由此直面彼此的现实、管控分歧、扩大合作、推进中美关系进一步发展，是何其重要。我们将这些研究成果编辑成册，以飨读者。一来期望读者更多地了解我们的工作，一来期望读者能够多给我们提供宝贵的建议和意见，因为我们非常清楚地认识到，平台的建设和发展，除了我们自身的努力之外，更多地仍要依靠社会各界人士大力的支持和帮助。

该平台，是由复旦大学校友校董，丰实资本董事长卢长祺先生捐资襄助。卢先生长期致力于中美之间的经济和文化合作，相关的实践让他认识到中美两国友好有利于两国的经济和社会发展，有利于两国人民的共同利益。在卢先生看来，中国国家领导人对于中美两国关系的论述，特别是中美作为世界前两大经济体，对维护世界和平稳定、促进全球发展繁荣肩负着特殊重要责任的认识，对于平台的建设有着重要的指导意义。希望平台能够成为中美关系重要的信息收发平台、学术研究平台和文化交流平台。平台也希望同社会各界人士合作，进一步为增进两国的友好互信合作做出一定的贡献。

中美友好互信合作的平台，在复旦大学各部门的支持下，特别是在复旦发展研究院的直接领导下，取得了一些小小的成绩，对此我们对所有支持我们的单位和个人表示衷心的感谢！我们特别要对为平台的建设和发展做出贡献的国内外学者们表示衷心的感谢！我们也要对平台的工作人员们表示衷心的感谢！我们将继续恪尽职守、兢兢业业、精益求精，为建设成为致力于国家建设和发展的一流智库而继续努力。

The Sino-US Friendship and Mutual Trust Cooperation Program is a research platform under the Fudan Development Research Institute, which focuses on how to enhance mutual understanding between the Chinese and American peoples, how to recognize the common interests of China and the United States and the mutual trust built on this basis, and how to build Sino-US cooperation in international affairs, especially to promote sustainable economic and social development of the two countries. The China-US Friendship and Mutual Trust Cooperation Program is also a platform for young scholars, students and other elites from all walks of life in China and the United States to communicate with each other. When meeting with newly elected US President Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping pointed out that cooperation is the only correct choice between China and the United States, and the two sides can fully become good partners. At the same time, President Xi stressed that we have a thousand reasons to make Sino-US relations good, and there is not a single reason to make Sino-US relations bad. In President Xi's view, it is normal for China and the United States to have differences, and the key is to properly handle sensitive issues and constructively manage differences. At the same time, the United States is willing to cooperate with China in efforts to eliminate factors and problems affecting bilateral relations, so that US-China relations can achieve greater development and US-China relations will certainly develop better. Since its establishment more than a year ago, the Sino-US Friendship and Mutual Trust Cooperation Platform has brought together experts and scholars at home and abroad, especially young experts and scholars and relevant social elites, to conduct relevant research and discussion on major issues in bilateral relations, and publish phased research results and relevant insights. These achievements and insights have certain reference value for understanding the current situation of Sino-US relations and their direction. In addition, the platform has also actively hosted or co-organized various forums, invited famous people from China, the United States, finance circles and political circles to meet face-to-face, speak freely with each other, brainstorm major issues in bilateral relations, and express many insightful views, which have attracted great attention from the media and other sectors of society. The work done by the platform is part of a multifaceted effort by all sides, especially by relevant Chinese actors, to respond to important directives from Chinese leaders to enhance cooperation between China and the United States. 2016 coincides with the US election year, and the selected articles printed in this book mainly focus on the current social situation and political issues in the United States reflected by the "Trump phenomenon", and the impact of Trump's election on Sino-US relations and even the world pattern. In the process of reviewing and collating the results of these studies, we also deeply feel that even in the information age, there are some stereotypes between China and the United States, so it is important to face each other's realities, manage differences, expand cooperation, and promote the further development of Sino-US relations. We have compiled these research results into a volume for the benefit of our readers. First, we hope that readers can learn more about our work, and secondly, we hope that readers can provide us with more valuable suggestions and opinions, because we are very clear that the construction and development of the platform, in addition to our own efforts, still rely more on the strong support and help of people from all walks of life. The platform is donated by Mr. Lu Changqi, Alumni of Fudan University and Chairman of Abundance Capital. Mr. Lu has long been committed to economic and cultural cooperation between China and the United States, and his practice has made him realize that the friendship between China and the United States is conducive to the economic and social development of the two countries and the common interests of the two peoples. In Mr. Lu's view, the exposition of Chinese leaders on the relationship between China and the United States, especially the understanding that China and the United States, as the world's two largest economies, shoulder a special and important responsibility for maintaining world peace and stability and promoting global development and prosperity, have important guiding significance for the construction of the platform. It is hoped that the platform can become an important information sending and receiving platform, academic research platform and cultural exchange platform in China-US relations. The platform also hopes to cooperate with people from all walks of life to further contribute to enhancing the friendship, mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries. The platform of friendship, mutual trust and cooperation between China and the United States, with the support of various departments of Fudan University, especially under the direct leadership of Fudan Development Research Institute, has achieved some small achievements, for which we express our heartfelt thanks to all units and individuals who support us!
