With the development of the service industry, the gender gap in the labor market in many countries and regions in the world is shrinking, but the gender gap in China's labor market has not narrowed in the process of industrial structure transformation, constituting the "mystery of the gender gap in the labor market in the process of China's industrial structure transformation". This book finds that the lagging development of China's service industry has limited the improvement of women's position in the labor market, and that the dominance of men in the family economy since the reform and opening up has promoted women to become "passive migrants", limiting women's employment opportunities in the places of migration and widening the gender gap in the labor market.
