In the first half of the 20th century, a huge rural construction project led by intellectuals arose in China, which the academic community called the "rural construction movement". As a reformist experiment, it hopes to use non-violent methods to save the weakening rural economy, refresh Chinese politics, revive Chinese culture, and realize "national reconstruction" or "national self-help" through measures such as education, cooperation, local autonomy, public services, and changing customs under the premise of maintaining the existing social system. At the practical level, the idea of "rural construction movement" is usually closely related to the strategies, policies and measures of national development, and presents the characteristics of "group" and "diversification". The "Rural Construction Movement" plays a role in linking the top and the bottom and integrating China and the West in the history of China's century-old rural construction, and has its unique academic connotation and characteristics of the times, which is an important foundation for us to understand traditional Chinese society, and is also an academic legacy that cannot be ignored by the prosperity of philosophy and social sciences and the implementation of a new round of rural revitalization strategy.
