Abstract: Lincang City is one of the least developed areas in Yunnan Province, with 97.5% of the 24,000 square kilometers of land area being mountainous areas and a population of more than 2.6 million. Lincang is biodiverse, the climate is three-dimensional, the mountains are high and the valleys are deep, the rivers are crisscrossed, the transportation is inconvenient, the multi-ethnic group is mixed and the quality of the laborers is low. Based on regional characteristics, Lincang selects industries according to local conditions, continuously optimizes industrial layout, and persistently grasps industrial development. Since the 60s of the 20th century, the cane sugar industry has been laid out, and it has taken nearly 30 years to steadily achieve 600,000 cane farmers out of poverty. Since 1990, the tea industry has been optimized to cover the three altitude ranges, high, medium and low, benefiting 1.4 million agricultural population. In 2005, it began to develop the walnut industry on a large scale, involving a population of 1 million people and lifting 320,000 farmers out of poverty in high-altitude mountainous areas. In 2002, Lincang nuts were promoted and planted as ecological restoration trees, and in 2012, they began to promote the overall promotion, driving more than 60,000 poor households and 240,000 people to get rid of poverty. By 2020, all the poor people in Lincang will be lifted out of poverty on schedule, and have embarked on a road of sustained poverty alleviation, stable poverty alleviation and long-term poverty alleviation relying on industrial development.
