明代苏州府是国家财赋中心，不仅赋税较其他地区为重，亦是明代赋税改革的肇始之地。本书以白银货币化和赋税白银化为视角，将明代苏州赋税置于具体的历史时空中进行考察。通过梳理官私文书、方志及前人研究成果，分析赋税演进与江南社会及国家治理之间的关系，从而揭示中国赋税制度演进的历史逻辑与内在机理。

As the center of national wealth in the Ming Dynasty, Suzhou was not only more heavily taxed than other regions, but also the place where the tax reforms of the Ming Dynasty were initiated. This book takes the monetization of silver and the silverization of taxation as the perspective, and places the taxation of Ming Suzhou in a specific historical time and space for examination. It analyzes the relationship between the evolution of taxation and the social and national governance of Jiangnan through the combing of official and private documents, square records, and the research results of the previous researchers, so as to reveal the historical logic and internal mechanism of the evolution of China's taxation system.
